It's Monday! What Are You Reading? (1-30-17)

After telling you about my incredibly busy reading week in my last check-in, I went on to read hardly anything last week! This is due in large part to my trial subscription of the PixL Movie Channel. I recently wrote about PixL on my other blog—PixL has the rights to many older movies that aired on Hallmark, and they also put out originals. Some are good, some are middling, and some are pretty terrible ... and I've been watching them all! My favorites (so far!) of the ones I hadn't seen before are Letter Never Sent and Romantically Speaking. No one would accuse them of being ground-breaking or unique films, but they're fun. I have to decide by Sunday if I'm going to keep my YouTube subscription to PixL ... so I may not get much reading done this week, either!

What I read last week:

Rescue Me by Susan May Warren. So, you know how I said I didn't read very much last week? Well, I didn't ... except on Sunday afternoon, when I read this entire book. You guys, Susan May Warren never disappoints. I loved this latest installment in her Montana Rescue series! The book releases tomorrow, and I'll have my review up then.

What I'm reading now:

Restoring Love by Jennifer Slattery. I've just barely started this book (thanks, PixL...), but I've enjoyed what I've read. I was pleasantly surprised to find it's set in Omaha, so I have a picture in my head of where the action is taking place.

What I'm listening to on audiobook:

Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng. I've been interested in this book ever since my sister read it for Modern Mrs. Darcy's reading challenge last year, so I was excited to find the Audible version free through Audible Channels (a benefit for Amazon Prime members). I've been listening while I get ready in the morning, and it's really fascinating so far.

What I'll read next:

Who knows? Probably something I've already started ...

  1. Glad you read Susan's latest. I must not have signed up for that tour so I'll have to snag that one. Cannot wait. :) Currently I'm reading The Light Between Oceans and am enjoying it fine.

    1. I think The Light Between Oceans is one I'll skip and go for the movie--I always have such great intentions about reading the book first, but it rarely happens :-) And Rescue Me is SOOOOOO good! Hope you get it soon!

  2. Have been seeing a lot of buzz about the Susan May Warren book, but I haven't got my hands on it yet. Love the cover of Restoring Love, and I am curious about Everything I Never Told you.
