It's Monday! What Are You Reading? (12-5-16) + Giveaways

It's Monday again ... how do the weeks go so quickly? Once again, I didn't read too much ... not only because of Hallmark Christmas movies, though. I also spent several hours watching the CW's DC crossover event that spanned Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow. Plus, I got an Instant Pot on Black Friday, and I spent quite a bit of time trying to make sense of it. I think it'll be a great addition to my kitchen, but right now it just seems really intimidating!

Also, I have two giveaways going on right now! My giveaway of Amy Grant's new Christmas album, Tennessee Christmas, runs through midnight tonight—go here to enter. The second giveaway is a DVD copy of To Joey, With Love, a documentary about Joey and Rory Feek. It runs through Friday, and you can enter here.

What I read last week:

Silent Night Shadows by Sarah Varland. I really enjoyed some aspects of this novel, but the suspense felt a little flat to me. (review and rating to come)

What I'm reading now:

Kissing Father Christmas by Robin Jones Gunn. I'm almost finished with this one, and I love it ... even though I'd really like to knock some sense into Peter, the love interest :-)

What I'll read next:

I'm not even going to say it with A Royal Christmas Wedding this week. It hasn't happened so far, and I'm going to stop saying it will!

Getaway with God by Letitia Suk. Nonfiction is always harder for me to get into, but I need to read this pretty quickly for a review!

What books are you reading right now? What are you watching right now? And if you have an Instant Pot, please share your favorite recipes! Then head over and check out the other posts in the linkup.

  1. We watched all the DC shows too. What did you think of the story arc?

    1. I enjoyed it--though, to be honest, they could have had any villains, and I would have been happy. I just love the crossover aspect! The Flash was my favorite installment, but then The Flash is my favorite DC show, so that makes sense! I really liked Arrow, too, which surprised me, as Arrow is usually too dark for me. The only thing I would have changed is having Supergirl (the show, not the character) factor into it more. But now that Kara has that nifty breach opener thingy, maybe other characters will cross over with her. (I'd love to see Wynn in the mix with Cisco and Felicity.) That was a really long answer :-) What did you think?

    2. We liked it too. It's so fun to see the pure joy of characters like Felicity and Kara and then you have Diggle over in the corner saying, "Are we really doing this again?!?"

It was fun to see all the characters together, since we are in different places with each series. I think we're up to date on Supergirl, still have some episodes to catch up on for Arrow, and I missed most of the early seasons of The Flash.
