It's Monday! What Are You Reading? (1-23-17)

Happy Monday! So the good news from last week's ice storm is that the wind didn't pick up like predicted, and I only lost some skinny branches—no damage to any of my property! Then the weather really mellowed out for a few days. We had an absolutely beautiful Saturday with temps in the 50's, so my mom and I got out for our first walk of the year.

Unfortunately, the cold is back, and we're supposed to get 2-5" of snow tomorrow. Boo! I'm so ready for spring!

I read quite a bit last week, finishing three books. One of them wasn't even on my radar at this time last week, but once I started it, I couldn't put it down!

What I read last week:

The Kill Fee by Fiona Veitch Smith. While I didn't love this book as much as the first Poppy Denby mystery, it was quite good. (4 stars)

An Uncommon Courtship by Kristi Ann Hunter. This book ended up not being what I expected ... in a good way! It deals with something that I have never before read about in Christian fiction. (4 stars)

Seven Days of You by Cecilia Vinesse. This is the book that I absolutely could not put down! I read it in one evening. But as captivated as I was, I have some serious mixed feelings about it. (review and rating to come)

What I'm reading now:

Nothing. Unless you count The Versions of Us, which I haven't actually picked up in more than a week.

What I'll read next:

Restoring Love by Jennifer Slattery. I'm looking forward to this one—Slattery's novels are always unique and realistic.

What books are you reading right now? Have you had nice weather, or is winter still rearing its head? Let me know, and check out what others are reading by going to the linkup.

  1. I'm trying to get through The Light Between Oceans before I buy and watch the film. And I also started 'Seven Days' but am not very many pages into it. Yet. :)

  3. I am on a motivational kick, reading Tailored Dreams by Daniel Christian Bradley and it's fantastic!! He is an inspiration, and his story is so wonderful to read and aspire to be more like him and do for others.
