It's Monday! What Are You Reading? (3-13-17)

Happy Monday! I'm back from a long (but good) day of judging district speech. Tomorrow, I go out again. Went 50 miles east today; i'll go 90 miles west tomorrow. It makes for long days, but I enjoy it ... and the pay's not bad, either :-)

I ended up reading quite a bit last week ... and I also finally caught up on This Is Us (no spoilers here, but oh, the tears!) and watched the first couple episodes of Time after Time. It's a time travel show ... so of course I'll like it :-) It is a little violent for me—I end up covering my eyes often—but I suppose you'd expect that in a show about Jack the Ripper.

What I read last week:

Then Came You by Becky Wade. This is a free prequel novella to Wade's upcoming Bradford Sisters Romance series. It's an epistolary novella—told entirely through letters, phone messages, journal entries, and phone calls. Reading it made me that much more ready for True to You, which releases in May! (4 stars)

Restoring Love by Jennifer Slattery. This book served as my lunch break read for the last month. It's enjoyable, if not captivating. (4 stars)

Still Life by Dani Pettrey. Pettrey writes some of the best romantic suspense. While I didn't love this book as much as the first in the Chesapeake Valor series, I still liked it a lot! (4 stars)

What I'm reading now:

Life After by Katie Ganshert. I'm only about 20 pages in, but I can tell I'm really going to like it.

What I'll read next:

Probably one of these two books:

Just the Way You Are by Pepper Basham. I still haven't read anything by Basham, though I've heard great things! So I'm looking forward to this.

When Tides Turn by Sarah Sundin. I may have done a happy dance when this appeared in my mailbox last week!

What have you read recently? What shows are you into currently? I'm always taking recommendations :-)

  2. I'm currently reading Life After and am (or was when you published this) further in than you. OhMyStars! This book is incredible. I suspect we'll share similar thoughts on it.

Looking forward to Becky's (novella and novel) as well as Sarah's. Oh, and I hear great things about Pepper's new novel. Happy reading, Becky!

    1. Sorry about the late reply :-) You're probably still further than I am, as I didn't pick it up at all last week! I did start Pepper's, and I'm really liking it.
