"Homestands" by Sally Bradley

Homestands is the last book I read in my whirlwind tour of Kindle Unlimited. I decided not to continue my subscription after the free trial because I already own hundreds of Kindle books that I haven't read ... but I certainly enjoyed KU while I had it.

Happy Monday! I've been absent for several weeks (blame the busyness of the end of the school year), but I'm back now—because I'm prepping this on Saturday while watching Everest. My thoughts so far: why on earth would you put yourself through that? I certainly don't have an adventurer's spirit!

"Kissed by a Cowboy" by Lacy Williams

I've had the Kindle version of Kissed by a Cowboy for a few years now, but I never got around to reading it. Then last month, author Lacy Williams had a massive audiobook giveaway, and I got a copy of Kissed by a Cowboy. I love listening to audiobooks when I'm mowing (it makes that chore just a small bit better), and I listened to the whole thing in just two days.

"Life After" by Katie Ganshert

The last time I read a Katie Ganshert novel (not counting her YA dystopian series written as K.E. Ganshert), I closed the book with tears streaming down my face. While I wanted to read Life After, I wasn't sure I was emotionally ready for it. Turns out, while Life After is deep and emotional, it didn't wreck me in the way that A Broken Kind of Beautiful did. Yet it also left me with much to consider about God and His goodness.

"Just the Way You Are" by Pepper Basham

Over the past year, I've heard a lot about Pepper Basham—her books are pretty popular with several of the bloggers I follow. Just the Way You Are gave me my first opportunity to sample her writing, and let's just say that now I get what all the fuss is about!

"The Versions of Us" by Laura Barnett

The moment I heard of Laura Barnett's The Versions of Us, I knew I wanted to read it. Multiple versions of the same people, showing how their lives would be different if they'd made different choices? I'm always down for that!

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? (4-3-17)

Happy Monday! This last week has been a great reading week for me ... which is funny, as I was busier than usual and also watched the entire run of Emma Approved. (I didn't enjoy is as much as The Lizzie Bennet Diaries, but it was still pretty good.) I think the difference is that I felt like reading. That doesn't always happen :-) Once again, I focused on books I really wanted to read, not books that I've agreed to review. (The two aren't mutually exclusive, but there's a freeing feeling in choosing books based on what strikes my fancy instead of being a slave to deadlines.) I've also been bouncing around between books ... something I rarely do. I don't know what's gotten into me lately!
