First Line Fridays: "Just Let Go"
Happy Friday! This has felt like a long week, and I'm so glad to see the weekend approaching, followed by a day off on Wednesday for Independence Day. I believe that's a schedule I could get used to: two days off, two days on, one day off, two days on, two days off 😊.
I'm a bit bleary-eyed today because I got myself into a bit of a book blogging bind this week. Somehow, I didn't get my post date for Courtney Walsh's Just Let Go put on my calendar, so I didn't start reading it until yesterday, and the review had to be posted by 11 a.m. today. Needless to say, I didn't get a whole lot of sleep last night ...
So, in honor of my marathon reading session, I'm featuring Just Let Go today. It seems only right 😉.
"He shouldn't be here."
Intriguing, right? I really can't say enough good things about this novel, which is swoony, sparkling, and ... touching. (I really wanted another "s" word there, but my brain isn't quite functional enough today, what with the five hours of sleep I got before work, so "touching" will have to do.)
Let me say, though, that if you're a fan of romances like those that Becky Wade and Melissa Tagg write, you'll definitely want to give Just Let Go a read!
Read my review.
Check out the book on Amazon and Goodreads.

I just finished reading a Melissa Tagg book and have this one on my wishlist. I hope you can stop by:

Colletta
Aren't Melissa's books great? And now I can say that about Courtney's, too :-) Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteHappy Friday! My first line is from Hidden Currents by Christy Barritt:
ReplyDelete"At the sound of a footfall behind her, Cady Matthews's back muscles tightened faster than a mousetrap snapping its prey."
Oh, that sounds so interesting! I've heard a lot about Christy Barritt's books, but I've never read anything she's written. I should do something about that one of these days ;-)
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
Love this story!
ReplyDeleteI just finished reading Lone Witness by Rachel Dylan…
Guilty. That’s the only possible verdict.
I have Lone Witness on my TBR, and I'm hearing great things about it ... we'll see if I get it started this weekend or not!
DeleteHappy Friday!😊 I loved this book!💖
ReplyDeleteMy FLF comes from a book I will be reading shortly, The Hope Jar by Wanda Brunstetter....
Tears streamed down Sara Murray’s face as she sat on the living-room floor, going through another box of her mother’s things. Mama had passed away two weeks ago after a short three-month battle with colon cancer.
Have a great weekend, happy reading, and stay cool!😊💖
Thanks, Susan! We should have a bit of a respite from our insane heat this weekend before it gets incredibly hot again for the 4th. Happy reading!
DeleteI LOVED Just Let Go! It's totally worth losing a little sleep over :)
ReplyDeleteSince I featured Murder at the Flamingo this week, I'll share a line from the beginning of chapter 9 here: "At night, the cares of the day unraveled with the pulse of the clubs."
You're absolutely right, Courtney! (I can say that now that it's Saturday, and I've had a chance to catch up on sleep 😉) I read a couple of the Herringford & Watts books, so I'd definitely be interested in "Murder at the Flamingo." Happy reading!
DeleteMelissa Tagg, Becky Wade, Kara Isaac, Sarah Monzon, Courtney Walsh ... they all write great contemporary Christian romance.
ReplyDeleteI'm sharing from Five Days in Skye by Carla Laureano on my blog today. But I'm reading Bookishly Ever After by Sarah Monzon, the final novella in the Timeless Love collection I featured a couple of weeks ago. It's ticking all the boxes for me—contemporary romance, first person point of view, a bookish heroine, and a good friend who might become more ... Anyway, here's the first line:
The hunter had become the hunted. Poetic? Not really.
I LOVED "Bookishly Ever After"--easily my favorite of all the novellas in "Timeless Love." Happy reading, Iola!
DeleteThe book I'm sharing on my blog is Dead Drift by Dani Pettrey but here I'll share the book I'm currently reading The Hope of Azure Springs by Rachel Fordham: "'She dead?' Em heard a man's voice from somewhere above her." Hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI loved "Dead Drift"--and Dani's other books, too! I've been hearing good things about "The Hope of Azure Springs"--may have to add it to my TBR! Happy reading!
DeleteBeautiful cover and it looks like an interesting read! Happy reading! Although after your marathon reading, you might need a break. :)
ReplyDeleteYou're exactly right! I spent most of Sunday afternoon watching movies ;-)
