Review: "My Mistletoe Mix-Up" by Judy Corry

Probably my favorite "new to me" author that I've discovered this year is Judy Corry. She writes clean YA that's emotionally engaging and entertaining. When her Christmas novella My Mistletoe Mix-Up popped up as a Kindle freebie, I couldn't resist!

After the serious (but excellent) nature of book four in the Ridgewater High series, I was thankful to find that My Mistletoe Mix-Up is pure, unadulterated fun. It starts with a case of mistaken identity—Raven thinks Logan is really his twin brother Jace—and the fun continues from there!

It really plays out like a Hallmark movie (if Hallmark made teen movies): mistaken identity and fake relationship turned real are the two prominent tropes in this novella. It's just so fun, even though there are some serious aspects (Logan is a recovering alcoholic).

This book works as a stand-alone novel, but it's book five in the Ridgewater High series, and I do have to say I was a bit confused as to the timeline of everything ... where exactly it fit in with some of the other books (specifically books three and four)—maybe they were all happening concurrently? Anyway, that's not a major issue, and it certainly won't bother anyone who hasn't read the other books. Overall, I really enjoyed this quick Christmas read! 4 stars.
