It's no secret that I'm a sucker for fairy tale retellings! I've read many retellings of Beauty and the Beast, and even though some have been horrifically terrible, I just can't seem to resist picking up another. So when one of the bookstagrammers I follow posted about Beauty and the Baron, I snapped it up on Kindle Unlimited!

Beauty and the Baron is a Regency retelling of Beauty and the Beast. It is a sweet/clean romance novella, and is Book 1 in a series of Regency retellings. The stories can be read in any order.
This is such a cute romance! Even though it's a short novella (80 pages), it feels complete. One aspect I really appreciated was that Henry and Rose fell for each other based on character, not looks. I also loved following the classic Beauty and the Beast story ... and I appreciated that, while author Joanna Barker stuck to the spirit of the story, it wasn't a point-by-point retelling.
This is a sweet, romantic story that's perfect when you want a short romance! 4-1/2 stars.
