August Wrap-Up

Hello, September! While I'm not as eager to see September this year as I am sometimes (because while the humidity has been unreal, the heat hasn't been that bad), I'm still ready for fall and all that it brings.

After my massive reading slump that lasted most of July, I happily devoured many books in August ... including half of the books I had on my August TBR. 50% is much better than I did in July!

Stars of Alabama ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (review)
State of Lies ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (review)
A Glitter of Gold ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (review)
Cross My Heart ⭐⭐⭐⭐1/2 (review)

Other August reads (from favorite to least favorite):
Daughters of Northern Shores ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (review)—my favorite read of August!
Evermore (The Lost Princesses #1) ⭐⭐⭐⭐1/2 (review)
Always (The Lost Princesses #0.5) ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (review)
Recursion ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (review)
Forever Yours (Ridgewater High #6) ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (review)
The Undatable ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (review)
Flirting with the Personal Trainer ⭐⭐⭐ (review)
The Marriage Pledge ⭐⭐1/2 (review)

That's a total of 12 books in August—pretty respectable, especially since I put in about 20 overtime hours thanks to the beginning of school!

How was your August reading? What was your favorite read of the month?

  1. Haven't read Joanne's latest, but I've zero doubt it's a top-shelf read. Also WAY behind on Liz's newer backlist, and I just ordered Jody's two new releases today. Figured I had to have them because they're pretty! ;)

    1. Yes, Jody's are SOOOO pretty! Aren't Joanne's books just the greatest? There's a lyrical quality to her writing that is just gorgeous :-) Happy reading, Rissi!

  2. I read a lot in early August, but then life got busy. My favorites were Ronie Kendig's Trinity: Military War Dog, Julie Klassen's The Silent Governess, and Lynette Eason's Nowhere to Turn (on audio). From your photo, I LOVE anything Sarah Sundin, but also hope to read Nancy's, Siri's, and Rachel's, as I've never read anything by anything of them yet, but they all sound great! Hope you have another great reading month.

    1. Of the ones you mentioned, I've only read Nowhere to Turn--and that was ages ago, so I don't really remember it! According to my review, I liked it :-) I still haven't gotten to Nancy's or Rachel's yet, but I really must! Happy reading to you, too!
