It's Monday! What Are You Reading? (5-29-17)

Hosted by The Book Date
Happy Memorial Day! If you haven't yet watched PBS's annual Memorial Day concert, you should. It's such a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made in order to allow us to live in freedom. My mom and I watch it together every year, and every year we cry our eyes out. It's always so inspiring! The concert is streaming here on the PBS website.

As I predicted a few weeks ago, I haven't been doing much reading (or blogging) lately. In fact, the only reason I'm posting this today is that I promised myself I wouldn't touch the yearbook today, as it's a paid holiday. My goal has always been to finish the yearbook by the end of May, but it's looking like it probably won't happen. Unfortunately. Because I am sooooooo ready to send it off to the publisher.

Anyway, as I said, I haven't been doing much reading, but I do want to highlight a couple of the books I've finished since I last posted three weeks ago ... because one of those books is my favorite book of the year so far!

What I've read recently:

True to You by Becky Wade. I always love Becky Wade's books, and True to You is no exception. It contains Wade's trademark chemistry-filled romance, but it also delves into deeper, heart-wrenching waters. It's definitely one of the best things she's ever written! (5 stars)

What Hope Remembers by Johnnie Alexander. This is the third book in Alexander's Misty Willow series. I really enjoyed the first two books; while this book was good, it didn't quite live up to the others. (3 stars)

You'll Think of Me by Robin Lee Hatcher. I really enjoyed this romance, set in Thunder Creek, Idaho. I don't know if Hatcher is planning to return to the setting, but I hope she does! (4 stars)

What I'm reading now:

If I'm Found by Teri Blackstock. The only reason I picked this up today is it's my day off of yearbook :-) I very quickly read the first 100 pages—it looks to be just as engaging as If I Run, which I loved.

What I'll read next:

Once I finish up the yearbook, I'll have to dive into INSPY reading. You can see that list of books here.

I hope you've had a great reading week and a wonderful Memorial Day! I'd love to hear what you're reading now or your thoughts on any of these books. Let's chat in the comments!

  2. OHMYGOSH! Becky's novel is magical. There is so much depth, emotion and of course, swoons inside these pages. Cannot wait to see what's next from this series. :)

    1. Right? I squealed in delight when I saw Gray from Her One and Only pop up in a text message ... but I had totally forgotten how Corbin had a big role in that book! I've recently reread it, and now I feel like I need to reread this novel to be totally prepared for Corbin (and Willow) in the next one. I wish we didn't have to wait so long for it!
