It's Monday! What Are You Reading? (6-25-18)

Happy Monday!!! It's been a while since I've participated, as my June has been consumed by vacation (to Florida—I talk briefly about it here, and I have loads of pics on Instagram), yearbook (FINALLY FINISHED!!!), and a sweet three days with college roomie Jennifer and her daughter. So I've been busy but not particularly productive when it comes to reading. I'm hoping to change that this week. We'll see!

What I read last week:

Enduring Love by Toni Shiloh. This is the third novel in Shiloh's Maple Run series, and I really enjoyed it. (review and rating to come)

Unblemished by Sara Ella. I got book three of this trilogy in the mail on Saturday (thanks to Thomas Nelson & Zondervan's Fiction Guild), so I decided to restart book one right away. (I'd started it when I first got it more than a year ago, but then a review deadline came up, I set it aside, and ... you can guess the rest.) It's so good! Highly recommended for fans of YA romance/fantasy/dystopian fiction. (4-1/2 stars)

What I'm reading now:

The Love Letter by Rachel Hauck. I've mentioned before that I always love Hauck's books when I read them, but they're not ever the ones I gravitate toward immediately when they arrive. Which is why I'm just starting this now, and the review is due on Friday. Sigh.

What I'll read next:

This week, this category could also be called "what I want to be reading but can't because ... responsible adult"—Unraveling by Sara Ella. Unblemished, which is full of twists and turns throughout, ends with a jaw dropping twist ... and I can't wait to see how things play out in Unraveling!

How was your reading week? Let me know, and then check out the linkup to see what other people read.

  1. I’m currently reading The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah, and it is crushing my soul.

    1. In a good way or a bad way? 'Cause that sounds pretty terrible ...

    2. I think good, but I'll have to finish it before I know for sure.

  2. Vacations should always be about doing what you want. For me it's catching up on all those books I should have read, but I don't schedule anything in particular.

The Love Letter sounds right up my alley. Hope you are enjoying it. Thanks for visiting The Book Connection.

    1. I am enjoying The Love Letter, Cheryl! And I agree with you about vacations ... although I'm taking a day off tomorrow to not exactly do what I want but to read a book that I forgot about and have to have reviewed by Friday. Oops! But I'm thankful that I have vacation time to use, and it will be nice to not be in the office :-)
