Top Ten Tuesday: Series I Might Finish

Today's TTT topic (over at That Artsy Reader Girl) is Series I’ve Given Up On/Don’t Plan to Finish. I'm tweaking that to be Series I Might Finish. I'm dividing my list into three sections: Series I'd Like to Finish ASAP, Series I Might Finish ... Someday, and Series I Still Need to Begin (and Finish). All of these are books I already own (or can easily access for free), so reading them would be easy if I decide I want to.

Series I'd Like to Finish ASAP

The Unblemished Trilogy by Sara Ella. I finally read book one, Unblemished, over the weekend, and now I'm dying to read the other two books!

The If I Run series by Terri Blackstock. I read and loved the first two books. I'm on the waitlist at my library for If I Live ... approximately three weeks to go!

The Fairy Tale Romance series by Melanie Dickerson. Dickerson has written two medieval series, and the Fairy Tale Romances are my favorite (though I do confuse the two all the time, and they share space on my bookshelf). I still have to read The Fairest Beauty and The Captive Maiden, and I'm dying to get my hands on The Orphan's Wish, which is based on Aladdin and released TODAY.

Series I Might Finish ... Someday

The Raleigh Harmon series by Sibella Giorello. I own the entire series. I've only read books four and five, and I loved them! So why haven't I read the others? Good question!

The Wings of Glory series by Sarah Sundin. I first "met" Sundin with the final book in the Wings of Glory series, Blue Skies Tomorrow, which captivated me from beginning to end (and ended up being my favorite book of 2011). I always planned to go back and read the first two books (and I bought both of them), but, while I've read each of Sundin's subsequent releases, I have yet to go back to these, but I'd really like to!

The Beyond Time series by Tamara Leigh. I absolutely adored the first book in this series, Dreamspell, so I was thrilled to learn that Leigh had written another time travel romance. I bought it, now I just need to read it!

The Katie Weldon series by Robin Jones Gunn. I loved the first three books in this series, and I assumed that Coming Attractions was the end, but then Gunn wrote Finally & Forever ... and it's been sitting on my shelf for years now. Honestly, I'm not sure if I'll ever get to it, partly because I thought Coming Attractions ended perfectly!

The Big Sky series by Tricia Goyer. While I'm not much for Amish fiction, I really enjoyed books one and two in Tricia Goyer's Big Sky series. I was supposed to be on the blog tour for Beyond Hope's Valley, but the book got lost in the mail. I eventually purchased a copy because I just had to know how things turned out ... but then I never actually read the book!

Series I Still Need to Begin (and Finish)

The To All the Boys I've Loved Before trilogy by Jenny Han. My sister gave me To All The Boys I've Loved Before several months ago, and I promised her I would read it before I saw her again. Then I unexpectedly went to visit her in May, and I most certainly didn't read the book before that. But she's coming to visit in August, so that's my new goal! I already have book two, and I saw that my library has book three, so we'll see ... I do have additional motivation because To All the Boys I've Loved Before is soon to be a Netflix movie! (See the trailer here.)

The Matched trilogy by Ally Condie. I bought this series years ago after reading a glowing review of Matched in Entertainment Weekly. For some reason, I've never read them—but I also refuse to get rid of them. It's probably time to decide what to do ...

What series are you planning to finish ... or give up on?

  1. I'm SO excited about the To All the Boys I've Loved Before movie, and cannot wait to see it. Plus, I have as yet to read the book too!! They sound like such fun. :)

Reading Sarah's first series with Revell is on my must list too. In the last year I collected them all on paperback since they are becoming harder to find. I've no doubt they're amazing as all of Sarah's books are. :)

    1. I didn't let myself watch the trailer, even as I was finding it to link. I don't want anything to spoil the book for me! The back half of July looks pretty light for me in regards to book blogging commitments, so hopefully I'll have time to read it before the film hits Netflix!

There's just something special about Sarah's writing, isn't there? I'm sure we'll both love those older books once we finally get to reading them :-)

      Thanks for stopping by, Rissi!

  2. Sibella Giorello’s series has continued with ebooks, I think she is currently on book 7! They are all incredible; definitely worth spending the time needed to catch up!

  3. Sibella Giorello’s Raleigh series now run to 7 books, I think, not including 3 prequels. They are all incredible. Definitely try to make time to catch up on a wonderful series!
