Review: "Point of Danger" by Irene Hannon

Irene Hannon pens a high-octane thriller in Point of Danger, the first book in her new Triple Threat series.

Radio talk show host Eve Reilly is used to backlash from her pot-stirring on-air commentary and interviews, but now it seems a disgruntled listener is resorting to more than angry words to express their displeasure. When a suspicious package arrives on her doorstep, Eve turns to law enforcement for help.

Police detective Brent Lange can't find any evidence to link the string of unsettling incidents that follows, but he's convinced they're connected. As the harassment grows more menacing, it becomes clear someone wants Eve's voice silenced--permanently.

But unless he can track down her foe, fast, the gutsy woman who is willing to take risks for what she believes--and who is swiftly winning his heart--may not survive.

Bestselling author and three-time RITA Award winner Irene Hannon is back with a heart-stopping new series that will have you turning pages well into the night.

Point of Danger begins with a figurative (and potentially literal) bang as conservative radio host Eve Reilly finds a ticking package on her porch. As time goes on, the threats mount, and it becomes clear that whoever is targeting Eve might not be content with scare tactics. Detective Brent Lange races against time to find out who is targeting Eve ... and finds himself falling for Eve in the process.

This book moves so rapidly that you almost need to take a break to catch your breath! I loved trying to discover which character - or characters - might be out to get Eve. I did eventually have them all pegged (some are obvious from the beginning, purposely, I believe), but I didn't have all of the motivations figured out.

I really enjoyed both Eve and Brent, and I liked watching them fall for each other. I especially appreciated that Eve was a woman who wasn't afraid to go after what she wanted! Eve's two sisters, who will feature in future novels, get a fair amount of page time, and I'm eager to read their stories, as well.

Romantic suspense lovers are sure to enjoy this novel! 4 stars.
