Review: "Justice Delivered" by Patricia Bradley

While I don't read a ton of romantic suspense, I've quickly become a fan of Patricia Bradley's novels. I've especially enjoyed her Memphis Cold Case novels, of which Justice Delivered is the fourth.

Review: "Justice Betrayed" by Patricia Bradley

Over the past couple of years, I've become a big fan of Patricia Bradley's novels. They're mysteries with a touch of suspense, but they're never over the top or gruesome. And they're always, always entertaining.

Apparently, reading about cold case detectives is becoming my thing ... last week, I read Bringing Maggie Home, where one of the main characters is a cold case detective, and I just finished reading Justice Buried, which is part of a series about cold case detectives!

I first "met" Patricia Bradley through her Logan Point romantic suspense series. While I greatly enjoyed those novels, it's clear that Bradley just keeps getting better, as Justice Delayed is one of the best suspense novels I've read in quite a while!

Patricia Bradley's Logan Point series is best classified as suspense with a touch of romance. Each novel contains romance, but the suspense is really the driving force. This is especially true of Silence in the Dark, where the romance between Bailey and her former fiancé Danny is a foregone conclusion, but the suspense thread is full of unexpected twists and turns.

A word of caution: while Silence in the Dark can be read as a stand alone title, it does closely connect with the previous books in the series, tying up some loose ends they left behind. I've read the previous books, and I still was confused by some of the connections, simply because the plots weren't fresh in my mind. So I'd recommend going through this whole series in one fell swoop—then you'll be able to clearly make connections and fully understand the big picture. (And with book one free for Kindle as of this post's publication, you have nothing to lose!)

Even if you haven't read the other books, you'll still enjoy Silence in the Dark. Though it did take me a while to get into the story, once I did, I couldn't read quickly enough! I especially enjoyed the story surrounding Angel, a man who stepped in to help Bailey, Maria, and Danny after Bailey and Maria were nearly kidnapped.

I highly recommend Silence in the Dark—and the whole Logan Point series—to fans of romantic suspense. 4 stars.

The covers of Patricia Bradley's Logan's Point novels may look like posters for Lifetime movies, but there's nothing cheesy about the stories inside. In the third book (which can be read as a stand alone), Gone without a Trace, Bradley amps up the suspense with a story that feels like it could happen just about anywhere, making it all the more scary.

One of my favorite things about Gone without a Trace is the way Bradley drops clues about the abductor's identity without actually giving anything away. Basically, there are four or five men who could be the bad guy, and I kept changing my mind about who it was! But I also felt like I could follow along and make intelligent guesses, so when he was revealed, I didn't feel cheated—everything lined up based on the story.

While the mystery was fantastic and the romance between Livy and Alex was believable, I did feel like a few other relationships resolved a bit too conveniently. One of them, the relationship between Livy and her father, didn't have a huge bearing on the story anyway, so I don't know why it needed to be included. However, it was just a minor sub-plot; I absolutely loved 95% of this novel.

I know I joked about Lifetime earlier, but I could absolutely see Gone without a Trace being made into a Lifetime-type movie. And I for one would love to watch it. 4-1/2 stars.
