Happy Monday! Less than a week until Christmas!!!!! I'm getting this up pretty late because my day ended up differently than I'd planned—I accompanied my dad on his weekly shopping trip for work. We went to Sam's, Walmart, and two grocery stores—and it was lots of fun! (I also spent lots of money ... )
I managed to read two books last week, as well as start a new one. I expect that my reading will slow down drastically beginning Friday, as my whole family will be home for Christmas! I can't wait :-)
What I read last week:
Lucifer's Harvest by Mel Starr. Starr's books are unlike any others I've read. I never would have guessed that novels about a medieval surgeon/bailiff would be some of my most anticipated reads, but they are. Lucifer's Harvest turned out to be one of the best in the series! (5 stars)
Fatal Frost by Nancy Mehl. I read this novel in one afternoon—it's quickly-moving, completely engaging suspense. (review and rating to come)
What I'm reading now:
Beyond Belief by Jenna Miscavige Hill. I've long been fascinated by Scientology—it just blows my mind how people can get pulled in, and the stories of people getting out are so interesting. I got this book on sale a couple weeks ago, and I decided to start reading after I watched Leah Remini's new show, Scientology and the Aftermath. It'll probably take me a while to get through this one, as I have an idea I'll read it in bits and pieces.
