Review: "Give Me Thine Heart" by Andrea Boeshaar

In early June, I read Timeless Love, a novella anthology. This anthology was only available until early July, and now the novellas are releasing separately. While I wrote a general review of the collection last month, I want to expound on each entry now. Because you know I love expounding 😉.

Moira Kingsley loathes the man her uncle, the Baron Tyrus Kingsley, wishes her to marry. But when she meets Mr. Samuel Stryker, she soon guesses he’s from the American Colonies. After she stumbles onto a deep secret, Sam must make an impossible decision. Kill her or kidnap her?

Ultimately, he whisks Moira from England and she actually considers herself saved from a fate worse than death, , especially after she learns bits of truth of her fiancé’s darker side. However, it’s the on the voyage to the U.S. that Moira learns she possesses attributes she’d never imagined existed within herself.

She also becomes increasingly aware of the man who is both her abductor and rescuer.

Left alone after her missionary parents' deaths, Moira is taken in by her aristocratic uncle, who arranges her marriage to a British military officer. Moira doesn't like or trust her betrothed, and when she meets Sam at her engagement party, she learns a secret that endangers her life. Left with no good option, she flees with Sam and soon finds herself sailing for America. Though Sam insists they will part ways once they arrive on American soil, Moira finds herself falling for Sam.

Give Me Thine Heart is an enjoyable romance. Though Moira is far too quick to jump to conclusions about Sam and the story wraps up a little too conveniently, I did find myself swept into the story. Plus, it features a marriage of convenience, which is my favorite plot device ever 😊. 3-1/2 stars.

Buy the book.
Read my review of Boeshaar's Uncertain Heart (3 stars).
