Review: "A Castaway in Cornwall" by Julie Klassen
It's always a good day when Julie Klassen has a new release! She was really my introduction to Regency romance about 10 years ago, and I've never looked back.

Review: "The Sowing Season" by Katie Powner
It's not often that I pick up a book that isn't a romance (what can I say, I know what I like!), but I'd heard very good things about Katie Powner's debut, so I decided to pick it up. It was worth stepping out of my genre comfort zone!

Review: "The Gentleman and the Thief" by Sarah M. Eden
One of the highlights of 2020 for me has been discovering the Proper Romance line put out by Shadow Mountain Publishers. Sarah M. Eden has written several for the line, but The Gentleman and the Thief is my first exposure to her writing.

Review: "The Santa Box" (2020 Film)
It's Christmas movie season!!! I've been watching Hallmark movies for the last few weeks, and really, to me it's the more the merrier! The Santa Box is a new Christmas movie that released in theaters last Friday and will be available on DVD tomorrow. I had the opportunity to watch a screener of the film, and it's a good one!

Review: "The Haunting at Bonaventure Circus" by Jaime Jo Wright
October is the perfect time for some creepy/spooky/scary reads ... unless you're a wimp like me! I used to be all in for scary stories, but now I can't handle them. At all. So something like Jaime Jo Wright's mildly-spooky-but-not-scary The Haunting at Bonaventure Circus is perfect for someone like me!

Review: "The Key to Love" by Betsy St. Amant
I'm always up for a good "hate to love" story. For one thing, there's usually good banter. And who doesn't love watching enemies fall in love? (OK, this doesn't exactly fit the trope, but close enough for me!)

Read with Us 2020: A Book Nominated for an Award in 2020
So ... in August, my sister Steph and I decided to pick the "book nominated for an award in 2020" category of the MMD Reading Challenge. I had read my book back in June, and she read hers and wrote up her review ... and then I totally forgot to post this! Oops 🤷

There comes a point for everyone when God's action (or seeming inaction) doesn't make sense. What then? That's what Stacy Henagan addresses in her Christian living book/memoir Breathe Again.

Review: "His Love Revealed" by Cynthia Herron
I just love books set in small towns, don't you? There's just something so "Hallmarky" about a small-town romance.

While fantasy/sci-fi/speculative fiction isn't usually my thing, something about the description of Dreamwalker drew me in, and I knew I wanted to read Andy's story ...

Review: "Beholden" by Jody Hedlund
Even though I left my teen years behind long ago, I adore YA romance ... but much of what's popular is more adult than what I'd want the teens I know to read. That's why I love Jody Hedlund's medieval YA novels - they feature chaste yet swoony romance, and they always have positive themes. Her latest series, which begins with Beholden, offers more of the same.

Read with Us 2020: A Book Outside Your (Genre) Comfort Zone
Hi, friends! Better late than never, right? The start of school has had me reading less and blogging even less than that ... which is my excuse for why I'm posting this at the very end of August. In July, my sister and I decided to read books outside of our genre comfort zone. She picked World War II fiction, and I picked science fiction.

Review: "The Lost Lieutenant" by Erica Vetsch
You know how sometimes books are so buzzed about that you have to read them? So many of my bookstagram friends have been raving about The Lost Lieutenant ... and I even featured it in what is one of my personal favorite Instagram photos (the "likes" don't agree, but I still love it!). Since I've been on a Regency kick lately, I decided to squeeze it in between review deadlines, and I'm so glad I did!

Review: "Heart of a Princess" by Hannah Currie
I read and enjoyed Heart of a Royal last year, so when I heard a sequel was coming, I was excited ... until I heard it was about Princess Alina, one of my least favorite characters in the first book! But I also knew that Hannah Currie was a talented enough writer to pull off a book about an unlikable character, so I gave it a chance ...
