Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Wish I Could Reread

Today's Top Ten Tuesday topic on That Artsy Reader Girl is "Books I Could Re-Read Forever." Back in the day, I used to do lots of rereading of my favorite books. But today, I can barely get through the books awaiting review ... forget about rereading anything! So I'm choosing ten books that I'd like to revisit someday, hopefully, maybe in the not-too-distant future!

"Love, Life, and the List" by Kasie West

I've been waiting to read Kasie West's Love, Life, and the List ever since it released in December. After almost two months on my library's waiting list, I finally got my hands on the book last week!

Top Ten Tuesday: Favorite "Back in the Day" Romances

Today's Top Ten Tuesday topic, in honor of Valentine's Day, is Love Freebie. I thought for about 2.5 seconds before deciding to go old school: "back in the day" romance novels. Basically, this is anything I read in my junior high and high school years. So here's a list of ten romance novels that 1993-1999 Becky would have called her favorites. And yes, you'll see one author over and over and over again. I was a huge Lori Wick fan back in the day 😁.

"Kill Shot" by Susan Sleeman

For romantic suspense that's pretty much equal parts romance and suspense (just how I like it!), check out Susan Sleeman's latest book, Kill Shot.

Book or Movie? "A Dash of Love"

So far, all the entries in this series have been books and the Hallmark movies that are based on them. This one's a bit different ... though not perhaps in the way you'd expect. Someday, I'll do a Book or Movie post about a book/movie combo that's not connected to Hallmark, but today is not that day 🙂. What makes this entry different is the movie came first, and then a book based on the film was written.

"Glitter and Sparkle" by Shari L. Tapscott

I borrowed Glitter and Sparkle through Prime reading because it was recommended to fans of Kasie West. That descriptor has bitten me before, but I decided to give the book a chance anyway.

Fortunately, Glitter and Sparkle, while not perfect, is actually quite West-like.

"A Dash of Love" by Liz Isaacson

Recently, I've enjoyed reading books that Hallmark movies are based on. So when I heard that Hallmark was beginning to publish books based on their movies, I was curious ... and it sounded like the perfect thing for my "Book or Movie?" feature. I requested A Dash of Love through NetGalley, and here we are!

What's Val Reading? (January 2018)

Happy February! How is it that we're already through January? I'm not complaining, though ... the closer we get to spring, the better!

As we head into Val's reads, I want to share something she recently told me: she has a hard time giving less than 3 stars to any book. So, I'm just guessing here, but I'd say that her 3 stars would be equivalent to my 2 or 2-1/2 stars. So when she gives a book 3 stars, she's probably not recommending it. Just FYI 😉.
