Review: "Together Forever" by Jody Hedlund

Jody Hedlund writes some of my favorite historical romance. I really enjoyed the first book in this Orphan Train series when I read it earlier this year, so I jumped at the chance to review Together Forever, the second book in the series.

Review: "With You Always" by Jody Hedlund

In December, I included With You Always in my Top Ten Tuesday list of books I'd love to find under the Christmas tree. My sister Val read that post, and With You Always showed up in my stocking!

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? (5-21-18)

Happy Monday! School's out (ALL THE PRAISE HANDS) ... but I still have lots of yearbooking to do. The yearbook isn't exactly at fault for my measly reading last week, though. Instead, I blame Mayhem and Tad Hamilton.

Review: "Storm Front" by Susan May Warren

So ... this has absolutely nothing to do with the book, but every time I look at the cover, I see Henry Cavill, which isn't exactly a bad thing! Now that we have that out of the way, let's get to the book ...

Review: "Falling for You" by Becky Wade

I've had a handful of favorite writers over the years, writers whose books I absolutely cannot wait to get my hands on, writers whose novels are the first on my tongue when I'm asked for book recommendations. The first was Ann M. Martin—my Babysitters Club addiction ran deep! Then I moved on to Lori Wick and then to Karen Kingsbury. Six years ago, I discovered Becky Wade, and I've never looked back. Not only do I love her name (😉), but I cannot get enough of her books ... so much so that I sometimes reread them, which is something I rarely do!

So, obviously, when I was given a chance to read and review her new novel Falling for You, I said yes!

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? (5-14-18)

It's Monday again! This morning, one of my coworkers said to me, "We did xyz last week, didn't we?" And I was like, "Last week was a blur. I have no idea." In addition to yearbook (which is still consuming so much of my time), we had our final student council event of the year, academic awards, graduation practice (which took so much longer than any other graduation practice has in all my years at Nebraska Christian), and graduation. And that's just the work stuff!

Needless to say, I didn't do much reading. At all. I do have some review deadlines looming at the end of the month and beginning of next month, so I need to kick it into gear this week ... even though my brain feels pretty fried by the time I get home from work.

Bookish Talk: Thinking about Reviewing, Recommending, and Consuming

Sometimes, I have something bookish to talk about, but it doesn't fit into a review or one of my regular memes. So I decided to start another series (because why not?): Bookish Talk. The beauty of Bookish Talk is that just about anything can fit into it. So here's my first entry ...

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? (5-7-18)

Happy Monday! So it seems like we skipped right over spring and went straight to summer. Seriously, two weeks ago I was running my heater, and right now, at 8:30 p.m., it's 80° in my living room ... because I'm refusing to turn on my air conditioning yet.

"Don't Forget Me" by Judy Corry

For whatever reason, I read YA books in spurts. I might go three months without reading YA, but then I read one, and that's all I want to read for like a week. Then I'm good again for another three months. I read a YA book a few days ago, and that just increased my thirst for YA.

Yesterday, I came across a book I'd had my eye on a couple months ago, Judy Corry's Don't Forget Me, on a list of daily Kindle freebies. I bought it and started reading ... and didn't stop until I'd finished!
