Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Wish I Could Reread

Today's Top Ten Tuesday topic on That Artsy Reader Girl is "Books I Could Re-Read Forever." Back in the day, I used to do lots of rereading of my favorite books. But today, I can barely get through the books awaiting review ... forget about rereading anything! So I'm choosing ten books that I'd like to revisit someday, hopefully, maybe in the not-too-distant future!

My Stubborn Heart (my review), Meant to Be Mine (my review), and True to You (my review) by Becky Wade

From the instant I started reading My Stubborn Heart, I was hooked. I've only read it once, but I've recommended it to countless people. It's been so long, though, that I don't remember much about it! Definitely time for a reread.

I've actually reread Meant to Be Mine once already (for the INSPYs a couple years ago), and I think I loved it even more the second time around. I've called it my favorite of Wade's books for years ... and then I read True to You. Now, I'm not sure which one I love more, so I think I need to read them back-to-back!

The Silver Chair and The Last Battle by C.S. Lewis

I love the Narnia books, and I've read some of them many times. The Silver Chair and The Last Battle were two of my least favorites—The Silver Chair because I wasn't a fan of the BBC/WonderWorks movie and The Last Battle because it was dark and odd and not a lot of fun for young Becky to read. So I'd like to revisit them as an adult to see if I'd enjoy them more now.

A Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L'Engle

I read this when I was eight or nine years old ... and I remember nothing. So I'd love to read it again before the movie comes out, but I can't see that actually happening!

Once Upon a Prince by Rachel Hauck (my review)

I loved Hauck's Royal Weddings series, and this, the first installment, is being made into a Hallmark movie that should air later this spring. If I want to include it in my Book or Movie? series, I should give it another read before the film airs!

Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH by Robert C. O'Brien

I read this book when I was a kid, and I think maybe my 5th grade teacher (who was my aunt) read it to us, too. I don't remember much about the book. What I do remember is that I hated the movie.

And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie

This is the first Agatha Christie novel I ever read (this was sometime in junior high or high school), and I loved it! I'm also sure that the version I read was titled Ten Little Indians. Anyway, a couple years ago I watched the BBC miniseries (which aired on Lifetime, of all places), and ever since then, I've been thinking I should reread the book.

Wings of the Morning by Lori Wick

The last time I participated in Top Ten Tuesday, I talked about the books I loved in junior high and high school, and I mentioned that I remember very little about most of the books. One of the books I listed was Wings of the Morning ... and after I published the post, my sister told me pretty much the entire plot of the book! How she remembers these things, I have no idea, but now I really want to go back and reread Wings of the Morning for myself. I've actually created a new series (because I seem to enjoy creating series, doing a couple posts, and then abandoning them) called Revisiting the "Classics," where I'll reread some of the books I loved when I was younger to see if they hold up today. I've chosen Wings of the Morning as my first entry, so look for that ... probably sometime in April 😀.
