It's Monday! What Are You Reading? (4-30-18)

Happy Monday! I'm actually writing this on Sunday in an attempt to get this up in a timely manner 😉. Two It's Mondays in a row? Practically unheard of!

Last week was crazy, but I did manage to take in the new Avengers movie. I really liked it, and I'm eager to see how things resolve with part two next year.

School wise, we're down to just over one week with seniors and 2-1/2 weeks with everyone else, so it's definitely crunch time when it comes to yearbook. I'm feeling good about this book overall (way more positive than I was this time last year), but I still have a ton of work to do. Right now, my focus is getting edits back to students quickly so they can get their pages finished up. Fortunately, my editor this year is great at both grammar and at making sure captions match up to pictures and that everyone is pictured, so that makes things easier for me!

I think that talking about not reading last week gave me the kick I needed to start reading again, 'cause I read a ton. Including last night, when I was dealing with a rare bout of insomnia ...

Anyway, here's what I read last week! (Clicking the book's title will take you to its Amazon page. This is an affiliate link, so if you make a purchase, I'll get a small commission.)

What I read last week:

Julie by Catherine Marshall. Last week, I said that I was having trouble getting into this book. It turned out to be wonderful, and I highly recommend it! You just have to push through the slow stuff at the beginning. (4-1/2 stars)

Pelican Point by Irene Hannon. If you're a fan of Debbie Macomber's Cedar Cove books, you'll love Hannon's Hope Harbor series. Pelican Point is the fourth in the series, but all the books stand alone. (4-1/2 stars)

Out of His League by Maggie Dallen. This was a so-so YA read for me. Light and fluffy but not too memorable. (3 stars)

Don't Forget Me by Judy Corry. My 2nd YA romance of the week, this one was imperfect but truly enjoyable. And clean—like mild PG clean. I'll definitely be looking for more from Corry (3-1/2 stars, review to come)

What I'm reading now:

Dead Drift by Dani Pettrey. This doesn't release until July, so it'll be a while before you see my review. This one's my current lunch break read, and I'm really enjoying it!

What I'll read next:

Storm Front by Susan May Warren. Another book in the Montana Rescue series? Yes, please! It releases tomorrow, and I'm really excited to get my hands on it.

How did your reading week go? Do you have any clean YA romances to recommend?
