Stacking the Shelves (10-23-16)

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly linkup hosted by Tynga's Reviews. It's all about the new books accumulated over the week. This week was a bit unusual in that I bought several books...I just couldn't pass them up!

Kindle Freebies

Clicking on the book title will take you to the Amazon page. Note that these ebooks were free when I got them, but prices fluctuate frequently, so be sure to check to see if they're still free before you click "buy now."

Baron of Godsmere by Tamara Leigh
Leigh wrote my favorite time travel romance, Dreamspell, about a modern woman who travels to medieval times. (See my review.) I haven't read anything else she's written, but I was happy to see Baron of Godsmere on the freebie list.

A Yorkshire Christmas by Kate Hewitt
Hewitt, as Katharine Swartz, wrote The Lost Garden, a book that made my Top Ten of 2015 list. (My sister didn't enjoy it nearly as much as I did!) I haven't read any of her other books, but I'm looking forward to this one.

Once Again by Deborah Heal
I really enjoyed Heal's Time and Again trilogy. Once Again is the first book in her Rewinding Time series, which picks up several years following the events in the trilogy.

Review Books

A Royal Christmas Wedding by Rachel Hauck
This novella is part of Hauck's Royal Weddings series (which I've loved). I'm so excited to return to Brighton Kingdom!

Books I Purchased

Washington: A Life by Ron Chernow
Honestly, I wouldn't have looked twice as this book if I hadn't just watched Hamilton's America on PBS. (You can watch it here through mid-November.) Chernow is the author of Alexander Hamilton, the biography that inspired Lin-Manuel Miranda to write Hamilton. When Washington popped up on sale today, I couldn't resist.

Chasing God by Angie Smith

What Women Fear by Angie Smith

Have you read any of these books? What did you think? Let me know in the comments.

  1. I hope that you will review chasing God because I really want to see what you think of it ....

    1. If I ever get to it, I will! I have SOOOO many Kindle books right now--but since I actually paid for it, chances are higher that I'll read it :-) Plus, it looks really good!
