It's Monday! What Are You Reading? (11-21-16)

Happy Monday! I love when we have short weeks like this—three work days, then four days off. Yippee!!! (Oh, and Happy Thanksgiving!) I didn't read a ton over the last week, but I did finish A Lady Unrivaled. All the praise hands!

What I read last week:

A Lady Unrivaled by Roseanna M. White. The first half of this novel was a bit slower than I'd have liked (which is why it was so easy for other books to take precedence), but the second half? So, so good! (4 stars)

Trust My Heart by Carol J. Post. While I enjoyed many aspects of this novel, I struggled to really connect with it. (3 stars

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year by Ace Collins. This is a 31-day devotional that also includes background info about some beloved Christmas carols and recipes for pampering your loved ones. (5 stars)

A December Bride by Denise Hunter. While I've read this novella before, I wanted to reread it prior to the movie version's premiere on the Hallmark Channel. It's just as good as I remembered. (4-1/2 stars)

What I'm reading now:

Finding Margo by Jen Turano. The first few pages didn't capture me; here's hoping that changes soon!

Kissing Father Christmas by Robin Jones Gunn. This is the third installment in Gunn's Father Christmas novella series (after Finding Father Christmas—which was just made into a Hallmark Movies & Mysteries movie—and Engaging Father Christmas). I'm only about three pages in, but so far, so good!

What I'll read next:

A Royal Christmas Wedding by Rachel Hauck. I've loved all of Hauck's Royal Wedding novels, so I'm eagerly anticipating this one.

  1. I read A December Bride for the first time and really enjoyed it. Such a sweet story. (This reminds me, I'd best get a quick review written!) I'm about to star Kara Isaac's first novel, and am sure it'll be amazing. :) Happy Monday, Becky.

    1. Did you get to watch the Hallmark film, too? I enjoyed it--the differences didn't bother me too much, and it was fun to spot Denise and her husband :-) I haven't read anything by Kara Isaac, but her books do sound like they would be just my thing. Happy reading!
