Happy Monday! We're at the point in December when I'm in countdown—and survival—mode. Yesterday, we had our Lone Tree Singers Christmas concert, so we had three practices for that last week. (LTS is a community choir—I think there were about 25 of us this fall.) This week is Festival week, which means crazy schedules for our kids and a day-long practice on Friday for all of us who are in the choir. Plus, I'm in physical therapy twice a week for a possible stress fracture/certain bone bruise brought on by ... get this ... all the walking in Washington, D.C. last month. (I wish I at least had a good story!) And I'm trying to help the Student Council plan for the end-of-finals party next week. I cannot wait for school to get out next Wednesday at noon! Then I'll have two more days to wrap up my stuff (which is so much easier on non-school days!) before having an entire week off. All the praise hands!
I managed to get quite a bit read last week, including Rachel Hauck's A Royal Christmas Wedding. I guess saying I wasn't going to try to read it was just what I needed to actually pull it out!
What I read last week:
A Royal Christmas Wedding by Rachel Hauck. It took me forever to actually open it up, but once I did, I couldn't stop reading! This book is so good—a perfect Christmas read! (5 stars)
Kissing Father Christmas by Robin Jones Gunn. Last week I said that I wanted to knock some sense into Peter, but after finishing the book, I understand why he acted as he did. This is another great Christmas read! (4-1/2 stars)
Getaway with God by Letitia Suk. I really enjoyed this practical guide for a personal retreat. (4 stars)
What I listened to last week:
The Gathering by K.E. Ganshert. I finally (finally!) finished this up! Now I just have to gather my thoughts and write the review :-) (review and rating to come)
What I'm reading now:
Lucifer's Harvest by Mel Starr. Starr's Chronicles of Hugh de Singleton, Surgeon are unlike any other books I've read. I eagerly anticipate each installment. I just started Lucifer's Harvest today, and I'm already enjoying it.
What I'll read next:
Fatal Frost by Nancy Mehl. I haven't read any of Mehl's books in a while, but I always enjoy her romantic suspense.
What books are you reading right now? And are you as ready for Christmas break as I am? Do you even get a Christmas break? (If you don't—like my sister who works in insurance—I'm so sorry!) Talk to me in the comments, and then be sure to check out the other posts from the linkup.

I *still* have to finish Kate's YA trilogy. Loved book one though.
ReplyDeleteCurrently I'm enjoying Melissa Tagg's One Enchanted Eve. So sweet.
The trilogy took me forever to finish, but I loved it! Oh, One Enchanted Eve. Sigh. So good. Happy reading!
