Happy Monday! It's been a week ... I'm recovering from a summer cold that started coming on Tuesday night and got progressively worse through Friday. I'm getting better, but I still have really low energy ... which isn't good, considering school starts tomorrow!
I did manage to have some fun, though, even though I felt terrible! On Wednesday, my Mom, sisters, and I had dinner with several of my aunts and cousins, and then on Friday my whole immediate family (minus my brother-in-law) had a birthday dinner at Texas Roadhouse in Lincoln. My brother, one sister, and I are all August babies, and I can't remember the last time we were all together to celebrate. Plus, I had one of the best steaks I've ever had 😀.
Because of my cold, I didn't read too much, but here we go!
What I read last week:
Unbreakable by Sara Ella. While this ended up being my least favorite of the trilogy, as a whole, it's a wonderful series! (4 stars)
Better Off Friends by Elizabeth Eulberg. This is a super sweet, clean YA romance. Fans of Kasie West should check out Eulberg. (4 stars)
What I'm reading now:
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer & Annie Barrows. I wanted to read this before the movie hit Netflix, but I didn't quite make it. In fact, I'm only about 20 pages in. I actually had plans to watch the film with my mom last night ... but then we came across Central Intelligence on TV and watched that instead! VERY different movies, I'm thinking 🤣.
What I'll read next:
A Rumored Fortune by Joanna Davidson Politano. I'll be starting this one tomorrow, as I need to get the review posted this week. I loved Politano's debut, Lady Jayne Disappears, so I have high hopes for this book.

Hope you enjoy 'Guernsey,' Becky AND YAY for a new book by Joanna. Didn't even realize this one was out already. :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you're feeling better.
(PS: Hope you enjoy both the 'Guernsey' book and film!!)
Thanks, Rissi! I've pressed pause on the book for now, as I have some review deadlines--like for Joanna's book--looming. But hopefully I'll get back to it soon!
DeleteI'm watching the show on Netflix and now at least, I know that Guernsey is an Island. That title though.
ReplyDeleteThat title is such a mouthful! I don't think I've ever gotten it right without looking :-)
